5 reasons why God might not answer our prayers

Hi friends,

I want to discuss 5 reasons why God doesn't answer our prayers.

We forget to thank God

First of all I think it is important to address that we should thank God in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Some people neglect God as soon as something goes wrong in their lives and come back when everything goes right. That shouldn't be the case!
Some people only thank or come to God when He has blessed them and then leave as soon as they have gotten what they want. No! We should thank Him everyday.
Sometimes it is not only about taking. It's about thanking God for blessing you, thanking Him for his grace, that you are still alive and have good health, that you are wealthy.
Remember that God never leaves your side, whenever you are facing a trial God is there with you. He doesn't allow it because he wants to tease or punish you. He does it to strengthen your faith, so you can run back to God and remember that he is the Lord your God who has been sustaining you all this while.
Before we ask, we should thank God!

We don't ask

Sometimes we forget to ask God what we actually want. We tend to think that God knows our heart desires. Yes, He does, but it states clearly in the Mathew 7:7 'ask and it shall be given unto you' - God is giving us a direct instruction. Some of us most be wondering: 'If God is sovereign, why do we have to ask him? The answer is quite simple: because he is sovereign. Nahh, joking. God is our heavenly Father. We should come to Him with our burdens and with what you want Him to give to you.
For example, you go to your earthly father and you just stand there without saying anything. Your father will be looking at you like: 'What do you want?' and you keep on looking at him. Your father must be thinking: 'What is wrong with this child?'. This is exactly how God responds to us whenever we come to His altar. Except for that last bit obviously! So next time you want something, just simply ask Him.

We don't believe Him

Faith plays a very important role in prayer. When we pray we should know that God hears us and that he will answer our prayer.

'Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.' - Mark 11:24

Disobedience

This is the main reason of God not answering your prayers. The Bible says in Luke 6:46: 'Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord', and do not do what I say?'
This scripture was so straight forward, because yeahh! How would you actually expect God to answer your prayers if you are disobeying him? To reward you for sinning? How can He when you are 'misbehaving'. Obedience o God is the most important factor of a Christian, yet we tend to overlook it. If you are expecting God to do something in your life and you don't see it happening, take a deep look back at your life and see if you are doing what God is telling you to do.

Impatience

We humans are quick to be impatient. You probably all know what the bible says in 2 Peter; 'a day is like a thousand years for God'. We shouldn't forget that God has his own plan for us. He blesses us in his own time. He gives us when He thinks we are ready. Remember, God always hears our prayers.

'This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hear us.' - 1 John 5:14

When God has blessed us we should remember 'not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit'. - Zechariah 4:6

I hope this was helpful!

God Bless,

Beatrice
